Lexi is a very spunky 13-year-old Maltese mix that is sweet natured and lovable.  Her owner went into an assisted living situation and somehow Lexi has gotten passed around since them.  But she landed in a home where a Collie also landed.  And when we were asked to take the Collie, we could not (in good conscience) leave the little one behind.  So, the little sweetheart got a "get out of jail free card" (as in Monopoly) and had the very best of care.  She has had all the appropriate vaccines and has had a comprehensive dental along with complete bloodwork.  She is heartworm negative and has excellent blood chemistries and CBC.  Housebroken and very companionable.  We are sure that the little love misses her 'mom' very much but she sure seems to be making the best of her current circumstances.

If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with.  Not bad advice.

A completed application is our first step toward any adoption.  You will find it on our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
