Belle Starr is a little bundle of love.  You could see the sadness in her face when we picked her up in Casper, Wyoming.  She was crunchy with pee and poop and awfully thin.  But she never displayed any aggression.  She was just not sure that we were not going to eat her.  No socialization with humans at all.

For the first three years of her life, she lived in a dirt yard with other canines and they had puppies.  That was the extent of her life.  Did the pups survive?  We don't know.  We were told that the woman who lived there sold the animals to live.  Again, we don't know.

But Belle Starr (nka Shaina) will never have an unhappy moment again.  She has a big brother, another Sheltie named Floki, who teaches her every day just what a good dog should know.  Congratulations Jessica and Lile!  It's a girl!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
