NOT SNOOPY!!!!!!! "Raven" is a fabulous 18#, neutered male bi-black Sheltie that adores humans, other dogs and even cats that don't hiss at him. His vet care is all completed including vaccines, normal bloodwork and a microchip. Raven is now housebroken thanks to Judy, his foster mom, who also taught him the doggie door. He is approximately 6-years-old although his energy makes him seem younger and Judy feels that he could make a remarkable agility dog as she watches him fly around the yard. Leash walking is fairly new to him but he enjoys having any kind of outing. "Let's go! Where? Can I hop in the car with you? Did you say errands??" Although the little dude has plenty of energy, he settles down quickly in the house and is a calm companion which is one of the nicest things about not having a youngster. Although Raven enjoys canine pals, the true love of his life will be that special person he can share his love and devotion with. He is always just a arm's length away, no matter what the activity, even laundry, dishes or important computer work. Glance over at the closest dogbed and there he is. Trot into another room and he is not far behind. This is the companionable behavior from a herding breed of dog but he does not exhibit it in an annoying way. Raven also has a sweet nature and loves making new friends. He seems at ease around everyone. What a wonderful trait in a dog that will share your life! Raven is ready to rock and roll. He is smart enough that he will be aiding in the review of applications for adoption. He has a fun trait that only shows itself when he is very excited. Only twice so far, but we hope he will do this special thing when the right family comes forward. He puts his head back with his nose pointed at the sky and howls!! What a dog! Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Policies and Guidelines and, if we sound like the right group for you, proceed to the online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously. Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
