A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.   PLEASE GO TO www.colliesheltierescue.org AND READ ABOUT THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECURELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VISIT OR DIGITAL PHOTOS.)  I KNOW THAT SEEMS LIKE A LOT BUT WE SCREEN CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESERVE IT!

The dogs that come in to us can often be heartbreaking.  This particular Collie was horribly malnourished, covered in fleas and ticks and had lost most of his fur from a flea allergy dermatitis.  Thank goodness, he is making a good recovery.  His foster mom feels he is getting brave enough to find a home of his own.

Wilson is a young adult tri-headed white rough Collie.  He is good with other dogs and cats and eventually should be good with just about anyone as he becomes more confident.  His beautiful silky white fur is coming in well and by winter, he should be ready for cold weather.  He is elegant and prances as he walks with an alert and intelligent gaze.  Being food motivated helps with training and Wilson loves food.

All of his medical care is complete.  Training will come easily when he establishes trust with his new humans.  What Wilson needs is time and patience to prove to him that people are kind and considerate.  He is no more than a puppy in terms of experience and deserves a full and exciting life ahead.  Fabulous folks are out there just waiting for Wilson.  Could that be you?

From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us.
