A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS OUR FIRST STEP (WHICH YOU WILL FIND ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org).  WITHOUT THAT INFORMATION, WE CANNOT HAVE AN INTELLIGENT CONVERSATION ABOUT ANY OF OUR DOGS.  PLEASE READ ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION AND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION.  A SECURELY FENCED YARD, A FABULOUS VET REFERENCE AND A GREAT PHONE INTERVIEW ARE PART OF WHAT WILL NEED TO HAPPEN.  THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING HOW SERIOUSLY WE TAKE DOG ADOPTION.

PattyCake is a 10 week old AKC purebred tri-color rough Collie puppy.  She is sweet and snuggly and loads of fun.  She is working on crate training, enjoys being in the car with her humans and loves other dogs.  Everything else, we are learning gradually.  PattyCake just arrived late on Saturday 4/2/2022 and today is Monday 4/4/2022.  All of Patty's medical expenses will be covered by RMCSR (Rocky Mountain Collie and Sheltie Rescue for those of you who don't know us.)  She will have two additional puppy vaccines, Rabies, Home Again microchip and a mandatory spay surgery, all at our expense.

Please consider well whether you have the time, the patience and the budget flexibility for a puppy.  Ask yourselves lots of questions about your lifestyle and other commitments.  Having a puppy and raising them well is a lot of work.  And it can also be the greatest joy of your life!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us.
