Riley's foster mom has fallen in love with the little fellow and can't imagine her life without him.  She is adopting him, baggage and all.

Riley is one of the cutest little Shelties that has ever come into RMCSR. Just look at that face! He is a 4-year-old neutered male bi-blue 14# bundle of adorableness (if that is a real word?).  He has some pretty complicated health issues and that is why we have listed Riley as in need of sponsorship.  The bills are mounting.  But he is getting the very best of care through Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine (known as SCIVM).  His diagnostic ultrasound was done there on 5/15 along with some additional diagnostics and his gall bladder was removed a week later on 5/22.  His foster mom is the 'best of the best' Intensive Care nurse Lauren who has helped us before with some pooches with extended stays.  So, in the meantime, Riley is learning about an adorable little boy maned Sam and watching movies in the evening on the sofa. It is all part of getting ready to find his forever home when the time comes.

Donations are tax-deductible and Riley will be helping to write the thank you notes.  After all, he is a Sheltie!  Thanks for caring about Riley and all the dogs.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
