About Carson

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Sable
  • Housetrained: Yes
Carson, a sable and white Sheltie, came to us from a young couple that has had some major life changes. He is three-years-old, a neutered male that is housebroken, obedience trained and darn near perfect. Women seem safer to Carson than men do, but that is not unusual for Shelties. The shy nature of these compact dogs can be overcome with some treats and some time. Carson has only been with us for a week and he is becoming more outgoing on a daily basis. Carson loves our 9-year-old granddaughter and is often seen sitting on her lap, the two of them reading a book together. He would like to have some children of his own to play ball with and snuggle. He does well with other dogs of all sizes. Cats are an unknown but his demeanor is so gentle that it is hard to imagine that he would not enjoy a kitty's company. At 29#, Carson is fit and energetic. He is heartworm negative, has terrific blood chemistry and CBC and is micro-chipped with a Home Again chip. All you need to add is Love. Please begin the process for adoption by going to our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org, reading our policies and guidelines, and if we sound like the right group for you, proceed to the online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. A good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit will round out our screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously. Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
