Nina, a lovely sable-headed white, spayed female smooth Collie, just
celebrated her 2nd birthday here in Colorado.  She came to us from an
owner that had fallen on tough times and wanted to be sure his
precious dog got the best of everything.  And that is what we are here
for.

Nina has been spayed recently and had all of her vaccines.  Her
bloodwork is awesome and she is microchipped with a Home Again chip.
She had an intestinal parasite that is now cleared up.  And she is now
medically ready for her forever home.

The reason we use foster families for each of the RMCSR dogs is so
that one family gets to know each dog intimately to help discover
where each dog belongs to have the best life possible.  That is the
way we have been placing dogs for decades and it works.  What the Art
family has discovered about Nina is that she adores children.  Nina
will not be a truly happy dog unless she has a couple of kids to play
with and nap with and live for.  So, children will be a requirement of
any potential adopter.  And Nina needs the company of at least one
other young active dog that is full of fun like she is.  When she is
not cuddling, she is playing.  And a 6' fence is also a necessity
because our Nina is a bouncy pooch.  A smooth Collie steps it up a
notch in activity level from the rough-coated variety of Collie.
(That is anecdotal from the Director.)

Experienced Collie people have a definite preference for rough Collies
(long haired like Lassie) or smooth Collies like precious Nina (the
short-haired variety.)  Some of us love them all!

From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process.
